Let's make a Zine! The term “Zine” comes from the word “Magazine” and refers to a small pamphlet or magazine that is self published and small scale, usually reproduced with a photocopier. Zines are a fantastic way to collect your ideas and thoughts and share them with others. Zines can be anything - there are no rules! You can bring previously completed artwork and writings or create it on the day. Learn how you can produce your own artist book or magazine with just A4 paper and a printer…

Open to all members who are looking to refresh their basic skills or renew their confidence in a social setting.  Weekly sessions run Tuesday afternoon (2.00 - 3.30pm) and Thursday morning (10.30am - 12.00pm) to provide guided exercises to get to know different art forms.

Join Jess on Wednesdays at Stephenson Railway Museum to take part in creative sessions inspired by the museum and its surrounding outdoor areas. Enjoy a cuppa while you create! Please note, these sessions are also open to members of the public.

These sessions are a great way to learn from other members too and to build confidence in different art skills. Digital Voices will be joining us again for a further 6 week programme, teaching us more advanced skills in using Procreate to create digital drawings. Please note - this is open to member who have previously completed the Beginners course with Digital Voices.

This 3 week course explores the foundational elements of all painting, both figurative and abstract. We will learn the theoretical and practical underpinnings of painting, looking at works of art from history to inform our own practice. Please bring examples of paintings you like with you. 

Week 1: Surface / Week 2: Colour / Week 3: Mark and Texture

Join us on the last monday of every month and discuss a different artist’s work and what makes it successful, or not?! This group is also a chance for you to discuss each other’s work and support each other to build confidence in talking about your work and sharing your thoughts.
