Joining the Studio
The studio is open to anyone living in North Tyneside who is experiencing issues with their mental health. Anyone who meets this criteria can become a member of the studio, join our regular workshops and use basic drawing, painting and ceramic materials free of charge on a drop-in basis.
Access to the studio is made by referral from your Community Treatment Team professional or your GP, who will need to sign off a simple form that you fill out. To start the process, we recommend booking a visit to be shown around the studio and fill out a referral form, but you can also download the form here.
Once your referral form is completed and signed, please contact us to book an induction session, where you will learn more about the studio and officially become a member.
If you live outside of North Tyneside, but are interested in joining an art studio for your mental health, you can contact Chilli Studios (for Newcastle), Arts 4 Wellbeing (South Tyneside) or Artrium (Hartlepool).
In addition to our staff and trustees, we are supported by some fantastic volunteers, who provide help with everything from cleaning and administration to supporting our workshop artists and teaching people new skills. We are committed to making sure that our volunteers are supported and need a wide variety of support, so if you would be interested in volunteering with us, please get in touch.
North Tyneside Art Studio relies on the generous support of these organisations. If you might be interested in joining them, please contact us.
